Schedule Change for Dartmoor pony classes.

We have had to cut the number of classes for our dartmoor section in order for members of the dartmoor pony society to compete.

The scedule should now read:

Dartmoor – Judge: Ms Bevan Jones – to follow CH12 after a 15 minute break.
Class 58 Stallion, Mare or Gelding  - 4yrs and over
Class 59 1, 2 & 3 year old colt, filly or gelding

CH13– Overall Dartmoor Championship – 1st & 2nd prizewinners from

classes 58&59 to compete.

A SHORT STATEMENT

Following a recent phone call we would like to clarify a point raised.

Our height split in the WHP is 128cm & under NOT 122cm as some societies choose to do.

We are not a carbon copy of exisitng socieites and run our shows under our own rules, to simply recreate our shows under other society rules would be defeating the object of our existence and undermine our objects as laid out in our constitution in that we are here to provide a new way of looking at M&M showing and a fairer platfom for all competitors.

After much consideration, we decided as a committee, that to expect a 12.1hh Welsh section B to compete over the same heights & distances as a 13.2hh Fell would be slightly unfair.  The only difference this may make to the 128cm classses is that they MIGHT have to compete against some Welsh section Bs & Cs 128cm and under that would usually have competed against the larger breeds.

Next year we plan to split our WHP classes right down into breed/height sections, but until we have raised some collateral from our first show we are limited to a more basic spread of classes for our first year.  Please understand that the running of this show is mounting up to well over £5, 000.  With much of this being stumped up by the 3 committee members we are taking upon ourselves a huge risk and hope that you can put as much faith & support into this project as we have ourselves.

Any other feedback on this subject or any other is always welcome, but please do so in a reasonable manner.

I can be contacted on (0116) 2882533 or emailed at showland@btinternet.com

Many Thanks,
Gemma Brinkley.
